Message As hard as it is for me to believe, today is the first day of June and marks the halfway mark for the year...where does the time all go. Bearing this in mind, just I have in past years I wanted to take a moment and remind everyone that may be interested in participating in this year's Z32 wall calendar, to take advantage of the warm summer weather and get out and have some fun photographing your cars. Of, course those of you like me, who have the fortune of living in the deep south or the southwest I totally understand if you do not want to leave the comfort of the air conditioning until say, October. LOL

As far as the calendar, remember when we are putting it together we are looking for a wide sampling of the Z32 community. Whether your car is Modded, Stock, NA, TT black, blue or whatever color as long as you feel it represents the Z32 community well, get out, grab some photos, have some fun and submit it this fall.

In a rare fortuitous twist, ZCon will be in our backyard this year over in Daytona and I am looking forward to meeting many of y'all. Along with a couple of my photographers we will of course be available to help anyone who wants some assistance get some good shots of their car. There are some pretty locations just down the road in more rural Deland, Fl. But, more on that to come as we get closer to the event.

A few pointers:
- Shoot on at least 4MP or greater, 6+ preferred

- Always, try and shoot during the golden hours, 2 hours before sunset, 2 hours after sunrise. The warm light is your biggest ally in producing well composed photographs, which illuminate the car rather than blow it out or blanket it in shadows.

- The background is important and it can really give your photos that extra something, but its not the focus. So, when you find a really nice location, remember that the car is still what you should be focusing.

- The Pittman Rule: Do not shoot your car on grass. As Chris has pointed out on many occasions, most cars do not look good on grass. The exception to this rule is of course exotics on golf courses, Pebble Beach, etc...

- Don't take your photos in the driveway, while the car is the focus, the background is still important. Everyone knows how nice your yard, garage or neighbors house is. LOL

- Don't be afraid to be creative, try different locations, angles, crops, motion shots, track shots, etc...

I've included Chris Pittman's article from a year or two ago as a good reference as he addressed everything very well. As always if anyone has any questions, feel free to drop me a line and I'll try and answer any questions that I can.
